Angel Logan's Write of Passage

I had to run to the mall for a few final stocking stuffers.  Of course, the malls were not as crowded as previous years, due to the economy, which made the trip bearable.  People did not seem as cutthroat as they can be during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It was quite nice.

Then, it hit me like a Mack truck -- the aroma of fresh baked cookies. Oh my!  I said I was over the carb withdrawals, and I stand firmly behind that. BUT, it is so wrong to have to walk by the pastry stand with the aroma of fresh, hot, baked cookies.  Then the associate behind the counter was trying to tantalize me with some cookies.  Personally, I think they have some type of pump hidden behind the counter, forcing the cookie smell out into the mall, to tempt the unsuspecting customers.  SIGH!

However, you would have been so proud of me, because although it was beyond torture, I kept going. In fact, I moved at an accelerated pace, to make sure that I did not stop. (HAHA)  No sooner had I managed to escape the cookie smells, the cinnamon bun aroma started dancing around my head.  Seriously, this is how they get you, by pushing the smell out so that you cannot help yourself.  I stopped -- yes I stopped. I had to look at those big cinnamon rolls oozing with icing on top.  This time I tortured myself, but I refrained again.  I turned around and went into another direction, and prayed that there were not anymore food stands.  Of course, I saw the Godiva Chocolate store, but the experience was not the same.  I knew that if I could escape those other temptations, then I could survive the Godiva store.

No wonder weight is an issue for so many. The commercials are inundated with foods, restaurants, and other yummy treats.  Magazines have huge color food ads, and when you go to the mall, you have to smell the treats that they have available.  Naturally it is good marketing, but it explains a lot!!

I am proud of myself, because I am still remaining true to word, and the best part is that it is now Christmas Eve!! I promised myself the foods of my choice, carb or no carb -- in moderation, for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Then Friday, I will return to my diet, and stick with it.  So far so good.  I hope everyone else is having the same success!

I will be back after Christmas, so happy weightloss and Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Until next time -- No Defeat ... No Limitations!
