So, as soon as I get home from work and start making dinner, all I want to do is crack open a bottle of wine and drink at least half of it, or have a few beers. It's a Pavlovian response. But I know that daily booze brings on the flaab. Because it has calories itself, and because it loosens my inhibitions, which helps me justify eating bowls of buttered popcorn and an extra plate of pasta.
With my newfound resolve to make my 12-lb down goal by my 40th birthday, I decided that I would not go to the store for some vino and that I would RESIST the craving. So I made my dinner (cherry tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, basil and whole wheat pasta -- total of 4 points for those of you on WW), and did not go and get wine even though I had to run out later. I did have some Ben&Jerry's ice cream for dessert, but only a little. Not the whole pint like I wanted.
So, I'm feeling virtuous.
